Discotheque
by Phish Funk feat. Dave Kent
12 February 2016 Disco House
This release sees the return of Phish Funk with two new original tracks after a five year hiatus. Taking influence from the 1970s disco sound, Phish Funk blend groovy guitar riffs with uplifting strings while keeping their trademark house music vibe. Strum features a strong melodic groove with an infectious vocal loop drifting in and out of the track, and Dave Kent is on hand to add his own unique funky bassline. Hold Out features filtered funky guitars and soaring strings, more echoing vocal samples, bringing in an acid house riff to add a different element to the vibe.
